9 Date Night Ideas in Oklahoma City
Jun 06, 2019
Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Sure, you can go to a good steakhouse or enjoy an Italian bistro — Oklahoma City is filled with some of the very best restaurants in the country — but we want to offer you even more than that. If you’re looking to go on an adventure — either to enjoy your passions or discover new ones — this list is for you.
We’ve got you covered with fun things to do in addition to dinner; so, when it’s date night, come enjoy the city that you love with the one that you love.
- 2nd Friday Art Walk
On the second Friday of each month, Downtown Norman snaps to life with the bright colors and rich sounds of the local art scene. A long list of galleries, studios, shops and nonprofits participate in the event each month, so the 2nd Friday Art Walk is as much about exploring Downtown Norman as it is appreciating the art. Listen to the live music that rises up around you. Sample food from the food trucks that line the streets. Enjoy a leisurely stroll with your date. You might even discover a new piece of art that absolutely must go home with you.
Cost: The event is free
Location: Across the Walker Arts District, Downtown Norman
- Ballroom Dancing
If you’ve ever wanted to try ballroom dancing but didn’t know where to start, the Ballroom Dance Club is your place to go for all things ballroom dancing. In addition to offering a robust schedule of dances throughout the year, the Ballroom Dance Club also offers weekly lessons for students ranging from beginner to advanced.
Every Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, ballroom dance lessons are given — for all skill levels — followed by an optional open dance floor from 8:00 to 10:30 pm. Grab your partner and spend an evening dancing!
Location: The Springdale Shopping Center, 4361 NW 50th Street, Suite 400 (northeast corner of 50th and Meridian)

Their mantra: “From Oklahoma Vine to Wine.” Take a tour and learn what it takes to grow vines and make wine. Because of its stunning location, this beautiful setting is often in high demand for weddings and private parties. You and your date will love it.
Tours are available without reservation at 2:00 pm every afternoon, and you can stop in for a tasting any time during open business hours (Friday to Monday, noon to 5:00 pm).

Built in 1903, the Henry Overholser Mansion is a beautiful, pristine nod to Oklahoma City’s rich history. Henry Overholser is considered “the father of Oklahoma City,” and visiting his mansion is worth every minute of your time. Peek in rooms that are perfectly preserved and hear the incredible stories that accompany each one.

Come enjoy live entertainment unlike anything else you’ll find in Oklahoma City. Each show at Michael Murphy’s Dueling Pianos features three piano players who take turns at the piano and provide plenty of entertaining banter along the way. According to the website, you should come expecting “a rip roaring, request-driven show, that includes a FREE DOSE of side-splitting roasts of other guests and friends.” Pizza will be served before or during the entertainment, so come hungry.
Shows run from Thursday to Saturday, and doors open at 7:30 pm.
