Staff Spotlight: Meet Debbie Evers at Tapestry of Quail Springs OKC
Sep 08, 2016
If you haven’t stopped by to meet Tapestry’s new Community Manager, Debbie Evers, please do!
“I’m just an open-door person,” Debbie wants you to know. “Having happy residents is what’s most important. They come first with me!”
Debbie is just finishing up her first week at Tapestry, but she’s been in the business of helping residents feel at home for years. In fact, she’s been in the Oklahoma City area working in assisted living, memory care, independent living, continuing care, and various retirement communities for the past 12 years. But she’s loving the special niche for residents that she has found at Tapestry.
Tapestry is an Alternative
“We are an alternative to some of the traditional apartments and to the independent living properties where people may not be as active as they are here. If you are 55 and up and still very active, but also are ready to get away from yard work and house upkeep, then Tapestry is a great option.”
Debbie adds that Tapestry has residents who are still working. They’re not retired yet, but they have other things to concentrate on in their lives besides yard work and home repair. She also believes that the residents at Tapestry experience much more of a community feel than at regular apartments where people just come and go.
Always Something to Learn
Being in this field has been rewarding to Debbie. “I love the residents,” she says. “I love being around people. I always keep in mind that these are the people who really have built our country to be what it is. There’s always something to learn from them.”
Debbie was born in Oklahoma City, raised in Texas, and then moved back to the Oklahoma City area with her husband about 20 years ago. She has one grown son who lives in Nashville. When not at work, she and her husband enjoy going to car shows–he owns a Cobra Replica.
Debbie loves that Tapestry has the look of an upscale hotel when you first walk in, but then you feel the warmth of home.
“It’s just an amazing community,” she explains. “I don’t think there’s anything else in the area that is geared to the resort and upscale lifestyle like Tapestry is. It’s just beautiful. It’s bright, and there’s also an energy within it. It’s an amazing property–there’s just nothing else like it in Oklahoma City!”
Come by and say hello to your new Community Manager, Debbie Evers!
