"I love it here. It's exactly what I was looking for and I'm so glad I found it"
— Ursula Sreaves
Ursula Sreaves lived in Perkins, Oklahoma, with her daughter and her family. Although she enjoyed the time spent with her family, in December 2018 she decided she was ready to begin a new, independent chapter of her life. That’s when she made the move to Grand Tapestry.
“I looked at several communities, and Grand Tapestry had the best of everything — beautiful apartments, perfect location, friendly management and I know it’s really safe because the doors are locked every evening and only the people who live here can come in.”
The people who live there include other independent single women who appreciate the same things, including the active living, 55+ social life Grand Tapestry has to offer. “There are lots of activities, like bingo and other games and many get-togethers,” she said. “I have made lots of friends and we like to meet for breakfast, which is served Monday through Friday every week, which is very nice. Plus, there are social hours every Tuesday and Friday. It’s a real nice setup.”
Ursula also loves the community’s location with its convenient proximity to the turnpike and the Quail Springs Mall and all shopping and restaurants it has to offer. “I’m still driving, but I know that over time — as I get older — I probably will have to stop driving,” she said. “That won’t be a problem because the mall is close enough that I can walk to it.” The community’s location, and the location of her apartment, also give her a great view of Oklahoma City. “I can see it from my balcony and it is really beautiful at night.”
With everything Ursula feels Grand Tapestry has to offer, she’s happy with the move that changed her life. That happiness includes the management. “The management here is perfect. I never saw a nicer bunch of people. Anything you need, they are there, even if it’s just to talk,” she said. “It’s just like one big family.” And, when it comes to family, that connection is stronger than ever. Ursula’s daughter brings her three children and comes to visit quite often. They too really like her new home and the new life she’s made for herself.
“I don’t want to live in a house any more. I just want to live here,” said Ursula. “I love it here. It’s exactly what I was looking for, and I’m so glad I found it.”
